George & Sami

sanctuary resident since October 2024

Just like the fate of far too many male ducks (also called drakes), George and Sami's story isn't much different. They were abandoned in a northern Vermont waterway, left without any means of safety or security and having to fend for themselves in an unknown world. Local rescuers came to the scene in an effort to bring them to safety, which they did successfully, and were fostered by a fellow sanctuary before moving into Free to Be.

George and Sami are a unique pair and are really only interested in doing their own thing, on their own time, in their own little world. That's their happy place - together. Sami is the most opinionated of the two, and never misses an opportunity to snag veggies or greens  first from their meals. George is quite the opposite being very laid back & shy, a sweet big boy.
